I think the milk with a date of 05/02/2026 is past it's best as the hot chocolate drink I have just had didn't taste great

Routine hospital appointment but 9.20 so set off 45 minute prior expecting gridlock and it was pretty clear.

Lidl consequently shopped in the spare time; quarter off oranges and they actually had one pair of thermal long johns in my size. Some have shrunk on the ankle opening making them difficult to put on and almost impossible to get off. Think the scissors might modifying them.

Ultimate Christmas food left overdinner tonight; pigs in blankets and stuffing balls.

It's been a cold, damp and grey day and the heavier rain has just started in this corner of Suffolk, but I don't care.

Lunch and drinks have been had, the heating is on and a coffee has just been made so I'm set for the evening. I've just got to regain feeling in my fingers from the walk across Ipswich back to the train station so my typing doesn't appear to be in some strange language.

It's been a grey, raw and miserable day here chez Casa Reynard, though it was still dry when I went out for some firewood at 4pm

Slept well and overslept. Whoops! Had the usual choresy morning, but kept it gentle as my hips, knees and elbows are still a bit creaky.

Lovely luncheon of a crusty roll, goats cheese with cranberry sauce, then a pear, a tangerine and a :cuppa:

Have had a quiet rest of the day. treated myself to a nice girly pamper / self-maintenance session - and managed to avoid getting my dressing wet. I feel so much better.

Other than that, I've done diddly squat, and I've needed it TBH. Just been sitting by the fire in the company of the cat and futzing around with a poem that needs to be finished by the end of the month.

Now watching the evening news and supping on a :cuppa:

With the incoming storm and wider weather panic it's peck panic buy bread and milk time :hyper:

LOL! I picked up 4pts in the Co-op on Tuesday so that I don't have to brave Tesco later this week if I don't want to. Bread? Well there's always flour and yeast in the cupboard if need be. And in any case, I still have one sliced loaf, some bagels and a fruit loaf in.

There's also 2 litres of long life milk in the cupboard and half a kilo of butter in the fridge. When you live out in the boonies like me, always having supplies in is second nature. I'll leave the panic buying to those who don't plan ahead.
