Messaging my sister last night and she said, 'Oh my hubby said you were riding your bike in Zurich this week, are you away ?'. I had to laugh, despite me titling the ride MyWhoosh, and it saying Virtual ride, he actually thought I was in Zurich. How we laughed. I've just been to Ghent today. LOL

I'm bored. The weather is rubbish, I'm indoors.

All the fiddly tasks are done. I have 3 or 4 reports to write up. These have been procrastinated for months.
I hate writing them, nobody reads them. Why do we bother?
Well, the Fat Controller who is even more boring than me, does read them. Then makes judgement on the team's achievements.
Truth is I don't give a toss what the jobsworf thinks or says. The real pain is that he or she, they're too fat to tell, gets paid. I wouldn't pay them in bent screws.

Still I'm bored. And the reports aren't written. Suppose if I don't write the report that's all that FC can report.

Perhaps I'll put on the to-do list after "fix kitchen light"
Oh, it's 1 o'clock, I can go......fresh bread bacon sandwich for lunch.

Hope all going OK. The five weeks goes quickly. I recollect they told me that week 3 would be the point when I lacked energy and would feel really tired. I didn't, it was all fine.

I had some good news on my own treatment this week as scans show latest block of chemo has fought a good fight with my liver tumours and has inflicted some revenge. The number of tumours has not increased and some have visibly reduced in size by 50% or more. The bowel tumour also remains stable and rest of body still cancer free. Now being referred for possible SIRT radiation treatment on liver to tackle remaining tumours and I also restart chemo at end of month to maintain current progress.

Best wishes to anyone out there battling cancer or any other long term illness. Life can be shite but keep smiling and stay positive as it really helps!!

The front tyre on my Carrera Vengeance Magnesium road bike appears to have a slow puncture.

Normally I’d change it (I’ve the tube repair capabilities of an inept Jellyfish) but given the bike’s to be used in bad weather until it breaks / the frame cracks I’m wondering “why bother?”

At the end of this winter it’ll be stripped / sold / set fire to if the frame’s cracked by then - apparently salt water corrodes it quickly ... oops! And at what temperature does a magnesium frame burn anyway?

So … what to do?

1. Stop being such a tight Yorkshire dweller and replace the inner tube because it could turn from a slow to very fast puncture whilst going down hill.
2. Leave it as is and accept a lot of pumpy-pumpy (no @Fnaar - that's "pumpy-pumpy")

Oh, and I've dropped half a cup of coffee into my keyboard and mouse, so everything may go a bit odd in the student feedback I'm currently typing.

It's still cold, miserable and raining here in this corner of Suffolk and I've done all I plan on doing for the day.
The bedding's been changed, washed and put on the clothes horse to dry, general tidying up has been done, the computer back-up has been completed and I've also rationalised the various electronic files, the slow cooker is loaded and slowly simmering away and a light lunch plus more coffee has been had.

The rest of the afternoon will be spent with a mixture of reading materials and the radio while slumped on the sofa. A snooze will not be resisted should it happen.

Given the number of bikes you have, I'd have thought puncture patching was a breeze !

Killed the keyboard for my WFH set up. Dropped half a mug of coffee on it earlier. Tipped it out, carried on working, but it's gone wonky now. Popped into the garage, blasted with brake cleaner (same as electrical cleaner) rinsed it, and it's now above the airflow of the dehumidifier. See if it's working again by Monday.

Was going to wander to the local micro pub after finishing work (from home), but the trip to the garage told me it's Baltic out there. I'm staying in.

My experience, can't say where, what or how says that magnesium burns spectacularly! An entire development lab reduced to smoking metal. A side issue meant it became a contaminated site. The clean up cost a lot, lot and blew the yellow jacket and clipboard budget


Are new inner tubes that expensive? Unless you want the near weightless ones made of fairies winks and held together by butterfly kisses?

I'm going to take my tea to the farage and adjust the belt on my bike.
That's a euphemism for being in the shed but not doing anything much.
Think one of those Chinese diesel burning heaters is on the agenda. Maybe install the old flat screen TV.

My back is still not great. I aborted this morning's perambulation due to skating rink pavements. Black ice everywhere.

My working day was completed at 1pm. I'm bored and confined to barracks due to hurty back and ice.
