It's been grey and rainy here all day.
I thought I would have a go at doing a bit of art/ modelling, so I bought a bar of Das Terracotta modelling clay. It's rubbish! It doesn't want to bind together, it is like trying to push an air bubble around when you try to make a shape, it also forms cracks as it starts to dry. Any thoughts of carving it once it has dried is out because of the cracks.

I have a ride planned for noon. Requires a collective decision not to go.
So unless Noah floats by I think I'll be going out for a couple of hours

Well, my companion blinked and I reluctantly agreed not to go cycling. Got reassigned to chauffeuring the management.

Let it be known around the Kingdom known a CC land,i have had the honour and pleasure of eating the final piece of the 2025 Christmas cake, and mighty fine it was.i am expecting a better sleep tomorrow night,as i think the contents have done my stomach no good at all, giving me rubbish sleep all through Xmas and New Year.

Morning.
Can you remember playing Mummies and Daddies when you were a kid?
Leaving home in the morning you would set off up the garden path on your scooter or tricycle, turn round and set off for home again to be greeted by a lovely cooked meal! Mud pie and 2 dock leaves! You have just had a hard day at work and to be greeted by this!
Where was Heston Blumenthal in those days?

YES! we called it "playing house"

& let's not forget ...
- cowboys & indians? yes (Americans only, I guess, eh?)
- doctor? yes :shy:

Good news - it's stopped raining
Bad news - the wind's picked up.

Guess who's gone and booked the car's MOT & service for the only day in March that I'm going to be away for (picked up a cheap rail ticket for a few hours in London in the sale last week). I'll just have to drop it off the day before and (if it passes) hope the garage is still open when I get back a little before 17:30.

Oh well. Hot chocolate time.

A grey, squelchy and very soggy day here chez Casa Reynard.

Did not sleep well, as my back was protesting somewhat. Had the usual choresy morning, which included ironing my white coat, as I am stewarding at a cat show in Buckden (Godmanchester) on Saturday.

Had a lovely luncheon of a chunk of Melton Mowbray pork pie, then toast with a bit of a very nice ripe brie, plus an apple, a tangerine and the obligatory :cuppa:

After, I chopped a load of firewood (fortunately ash splits very easily), got two bins of kindling out from under the weather and re-jigged the wood stores in the garage.

Then it was off to town to square away some errands. First stop Tesco for some bananas, the new magazine and a small cardboard storage tray. Picked up fruited teacakes and a box of Sheba cat food pouches on yellow sticker. Finally spotted one of my usual till ladies - hadn't seen her for a while as she'd switched to an earlier shift over the festive season - and gave her her Christmas jar of jam.

Traffic was bloody horrendous, so by the time I got to the butcher, they were already closed. Ho hum. Next stop Savers for a fresh supply of my antihistamines and some vit D tabs, the latter in the hope that it will ease the issues I've been having with my back and hips. Worth a try at any rate.

Thence to Waitrose - more of an "if I'm in the area I might as well" - for a packet of their Gold leaf tea. Got lucky on sticker in there too, with a Bury black pudding, two Aberdeen Angus burgers and a 400g chunk of lamb breast off the counter for just under £4.50 all in.

Home for a lovely supper of the last of the pumpkin & red lentil soup, then seeded sourdough bread with homemade gravlax, and apple & mango crumble with custard for afters. Madam Boo had a little tin of Gourmet pate with turkey.

I am now sat beside the fire watching the snooker.
