Being kind to nurses it’s got a bit busy. I’ve done both bits of my fluid balance chart. Luckily I know how to do the bit they have to do.

I was just chatting to Biggsy about the cost of paint for my Pinarello. I had to drive about 30 return miles to go and get the paint. I have already spent about £30 on 2 aerosol spray cans, one was too dark the other a bit too orange. I spent about £80 to have a litre of red paint and a litre of activator, I already have some thinners. I won't use much of the paint as I will only be doing local repairs. I have sprayed the crossbar which is red, silver and black with white lettering, Angliru. I have had to redo the lettering and silver. The down tube and seat tube are the next things to tackle. These also have lettering on which I will have to copy and repaint. 8 am hoping to keep the repairs away from the silver and black areas.
It would have cost a fortune if I had taken the frame to have been done elsewhere. The frame would have had to have been stripped because of the corrosion and paint chips. 3 colours plus lettering would have cost a lot despite the fact that they wouldn't need so much paint.
Do I know what I am doing? Well yes! I used to be a sprayer although I don't fancy spraying a bike frame. I must admit it is better than decorating!

It has finally stopped raining.

The now dry washing has been put away, yesterday's removed bedding has been washed and put on the clothes horse as it's a quicker drying material and a bit of tidying up and throwing stuff out has been done to make a bit of space.

Coffee and a light lunch will be followed by an hour's walk if it stays dry overhead.

got my slippers.Story was Mrs P told me to get some good ones.So Primark,did not have a size 12 in anything.So Marks and Spencers,TKMax,Next,and another and i cannot remember who that was,prices ranged from £28-£48 i kid you not.So despite Mrs P's advice i was heading to Leeds Market,when i fell upon ShoeZone,a more than one style in size twelve,fleece lined heavy sole and a high back heel.£9-99 what was not to like.Now a bit more,it is a long time since i wandered leeds,and what a sad and dismal place it has become.Pavements and paved areas filled with tarmac after repairs,who has the tiles, cobbles where have they gone.Commercial Street in the late 60's was beautiful,i worked on that street in 1966,i missed the World Cup Final working in a bloody shoe shop.Well it's a hole now,tatty shop empty shops.Young people have no idea how smart how vibrant Leeds or the country was in the swinging 60's.Later this year we are going to London to see a show,i wonder what Carnaby Street looks like,you have got to be 70 to even remember how important that street was.Anyway the slippers are fabulous.

I get 4-5 years out of a pair of slippers but normally suede/sheepskin 'moccasin' type with a rubber sole stitched on but then I only wear them in the house.

I found out that it's the Daytona 24hour sportscar race this weekend just in time to watch the qualifying online. That's my Saturday evening viewing sorted.

This afternoon's walk turned into a shopping trip to Morrisons to get what I was going to get on Saturday in the hope that the weather forecast is correct and it's going to be a dry and possibly brightish day allowing me some 'fun' time. I can but hope. As for slippers it's the Shoezone 2 for £10 cheapies for me. Only used in the kitchen with its tiled and therefore cold floor and they tend to last a couple of years at least.

The evening's hot chocolate is just about to be drunk.

It's been a soggy, squelchy and miserable day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well. Had the usual choresy morning, which included such delights as scooping the litter tray, clearing the ashes from the grate and splitting a load of firewood and re-stocking the wood bins in the house.

A reasonably quiet afternoon was had, although had to round up the shopping bags, bring in a new box of cat food pouches and bag up the soft plastics. I also re-dressed my leg. The itchiness is down to a lot of flaking skin and scabby bits that I just picked off. Re-moisturized and a clean dressing applied. Again, a massive improvement from Monday, so we're getting there.

At tea time, off to town to clear the shopping list. The trip to Waitrose ended up being canned as I got stuck in traffic / roadworks. So only went to Tesco as nothing I wanted in Waitrose was urgent, it was more a case of "I'm here, I might as well."

Cleared the list in Tesco apart from Nigella seed and a block of creamed coconut - those were both out of stock, the latter since before Christmas, which is annoying. Got lucky on yellow sticker, picking up a seafood meddley, two packs of ham, lettuce, parsley, basil, a punnet of raspberries, a jar of Thai green curry paste, a packet of the clingfilm that I use (Bacofoil, the others are cr*p) cos the box was a bit squashed, some cat treats, three loaves of bread from the bakery, along with tiger rolls, panini rolls and a job lot of croissants.

Soup and a cheese & onion toastie for supper.

A quiet evening is planned.

I wear crocs, mostly in the house. I got about 10 years out of the last pair (till I wore a hole under my right big toe). I usually switch to a knackered old pair of shoes if I need to pop outside when the weather's anything other than optimal.

Have you ever cleared out an entire yellow sticker item* simply because it was on yellow sticker?

*I'm talking 53 packets of sliced ham, just to prevent anyone else buying any.
