Good morning all, gorgeously bright and sunny here, such a relief after so many days of gloom. Need to make the most of it, the gloom returns tomorrow.

I was listening to a bit on the TV about Vets bills. It seems like they will price themselves out of the market if they aren't careful. My daughter has decided not to replace her cat despite the fact that she is now alone during the day.

It started to go wrong when RCVS changed the rules and allowed anyone to own a practice. The big hedge funds got interested seeing the money to made. Which has left us with 60% of all practices own by 6 big companies. The biggest is owned by Mars who oddly enough make way more money from its pet food side then from it's chocolate side of it's business. One the others is a group thats partly owned by Nestle. The other issue is as we've seen with human health , animal health too getting more complex and advanced. Which all costs a lot more, and due to the NHS most people don't know the true cost of modern health care. So find it hard to understand why animal health is now lot more expense.

Our local vets is owned by one of the big 6 but it's one of two who currently have clear pricing. We've seen it grow take on more treatments a few years ago it become a registered pet hospital. The service has always been the best lucky the owners are vets who are now specialists in a number of areas. Our dogs have all needed long term treatment and few complex ops along the way. Lucky we've always had insurance which has paid most of it.

Good morning from Suffolk where we have brightness but no sunshine thanks to a thin cloud layer after a frosty & misty start to the day. Still very cold out there so I'm not going anywhere for at least an hour.

Coffee has been had and the washing machine is doing its thing.

Enjoyed a most pleasant morning walk in the unaccustomed sunshine. Had a nice view of some tree sparrows in a local spot where I’ve not seen them before.

Thinking about exercise

That's generally better than doing it.

There is some study somewhere that claims that's the case.
I have tried arguing that me thinking a out work is better than doing it. Didn't get far with that one, at home anyway.

Lunchtime cycle, all a bit muddy and damp but pleasant sunshine. Temperature almost double digits.
Now I have to deal with a toilet that is blocked. Why, how or where is not clear.
I have noticed our paper consumption has risen recently.
