4 day weekend. WAH abandoned at 4.30 for a spinning session. Nipped down to put the oven on, shower and then back down to put a frozen chichen & ham bake in the oven . Possibly a mistake buying that as a reduced use today item as it cannot be microwaved from frozen.
Think I have fixed the sunglasses. The universal arms ordered off eBay were not universal enough. Decided to drill the hole bigger, JB weld again and this time it seems to have worked.

I have been out on our group ride. It was grey cold and windy. I wasn't very keen on the route chosen, a bit of off road muddy cycle tracks. My bikes aren't suited for off road work especially when the cycle track has been neglected over the years and has been back filled with rubble in places.
I am beginning to become more of a renegade and prefer cycling on my own.

It's been a grey and breezy day here chez Casa Reynard, mild enough, but not quite as warm as it has been.

Did not sleep particularly well thanks to a mind that wouldn't switch off, and the old too hot, too cold thing going on, leaving me feeling tired and sweaty. That said, did the usual chores this morning, and then went into the garden to fell and dismantle the smaller of the two dead cherry trees and turn it into logs. I did look at the bigger tree, but I shall leave it, as I can't fell it cleanly.

Lovely luncheon of sourdough toast, salami milano and cheddar cheese, plus an apple, some grapes and a :cuppa:

Then back outside to haul in what I cut up. I had intended on a quieter day today, but having seen the incoming weather forecast, I figured I'd better bite the bullet and do the lumberjilling. My log store in the garage is almost topped off now. I could do with some more small wood, but I can split big bits into smaller pieces.

After, I popped round to a friend's place to take her a slice of quiche, some gammon and some stock. We had a good little chinwag, and I had some kitty cuddles and doggy cuddles.

A quiet evening of writing is planned, as is a long, hot soak. If y'all can hear squeaking, that's my knees, hips and elbows.

Funny you mention Imperial the day we went was a strike day as part of the ongoing lecturers dispute. So plenty of banners and flags around.
I'd guess it very much changed since you went as it has since I went. A lot more flexible exhibition spaces, some you pay extra for , they even have a IMAX cinema.

@deptfordmarmoset it's also the new home of The Worshipful Company of Clockmakers collection which is the world's oldest clock collection. The craftsmanship on display is a joy to see.

They were just starting to refurbish the museum the year before I left Imperial, and they already had the IMAX back then, IIRC.

The Natural History museum is also very good, especially the geology section. And yes, the earthquake simulator is well worth a try.

I've split my bean bag. Luckily, this is not an euphemism but it did entail hoovering coffee beans off the kitchen floor.

:hello: From Newcastle. Food, drink and a shower have been had. It's now time to cross the river and have my ears assaulted by loud music.

bought a special chicken pot pie yesterday. baked it for almost an hour last night. Wifey had very little, so the rest is my responsibility. I guess I have to bake it in the oven again because it was made in a tin tray

Do cycling group rides tend to break up after a while? I'm starting to get a bit pi55ed off with mine. It's not a group ride, more of several riders strung out following or trying to follow a similar route. It can vary due to peeps not being posted at road junctions. I usually tag along at the back in case of breakdowns. Not very happy when I have fallen off and nobody has bothered to check.
My friend who chooses the routes tends to pick hilly rides. I'm not supposed to do hills according to my cardiologist, even more so now I am on hormone injections. Could possibly be the reason for my mood swings!
My bikes are lightweights and not meant for rugged cycle paths not like my friend's tank! I might feel different in a few days.
