My wife was saying that a chap called to say that they were putting fibre in and did we want to be connected. I was saying to my wife that I prefer our land line. She said that it is costing £50 p.m. I don't like using my mobile phone. My wife then said that what she doesn't like about a mobile phone is that you have to be specific as to who you call.

It is grey and very cold out. Winter has returned! I have just been out to experience it. I just put our bins out.

Oh just finished two boxes of cereal so a new box will have to be opened tomorrow.

Apparently a woman died in an explosion yesterday. The house must be very close to ours, her garden must have shared the same fence at the bottom of the garden as ours. We were out the front of our house gardening when we saw 2 Fire Engines go rushing by, we then heard a lot of sirens. We didn't know it was so close. We hadn't heard an explosion.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's been a bright but cloudy start to the day. Coffee has been had after a poor night's sleep where I woke up some time around 06:45 and just couldn't drop off again.

Today will have to be domestics day - bedding change, vacuuming, kitchen floor, general tidying up and possibly cleaning the windows.

Just seen Mrs 73 off on her weekend visit to the outlaws. Hopefully the rain holds off and I can get out and about later.

Second cuppa went down well with a slice of toast and lemon curd.

Coffee and lunch break time, although whether a bag of cheese and onion crisps count as lunch is another matter.

The bedding has been changed, the other lightweight duvet washed and is now on the whirligig drying, vacuuming done, car battery back on charge, kitchen windows cleaned (somehow I've managed to get glass cleaner on the clean on this morning trousers) and floor steam mopped.

When the coffee's been finished it's on with the rest of the windows while the kitchen floor dries which shouldn't take long as it's just about warm enough to have the door & windows open. If it stays dry, the outside of the windows may get done later in the afternoon.

Local Esso are now 20p per litre dearer than Morrisons round the corner. Morrisons put prices up by 5p, not 25p.

I filled the van up when this all kicked off (it was empty). It's going to last me over a month anyway, including a 300 mile round trip at the end of March. I've also got a 600 plus mile round trip in late April. Thank goodness I cycle to work. That £10 per day saving is likely to hit £15 per day (includes £4.20 to park) at this rate of increase.
