It didn't help that I was coming in from the south via Wattisham so had the open countryside and no real shelter Mind you I get the same if coming in from the other direction using the back road from Needham Market, so tend to wait until there's an easterly or south easterly wind before heading your way.

I notice the wind more now than I ever did, perhaps it is an age thing (67) ? If there ever is a tail wind, it is in short supply. I lived a year in Shotley and when I cycled to work in Ipswich it was into the wind, usually W or SW. By the time I`d finished work and ready for the cycle home, more often than not that wind had swung round to the East. It did`nt seem so bad doing the same journey from Stowmarket with the exception of the last bit from Creeting.

Finally got my bloods sorted out and was in and out with little waiting around. Then called into town for a things bits on way hame called into local Tesco. Only to find no milk yet again it's getting a normal issues. So looks like another trip to town for some shortly.

I know I only had a couple of things to do today, but only having done one of them so far (the shopping) shows just how easily I'm taking things today. Once I've finished this coffee I will do the bedding change and put a load of cycle clothing on to wash.

Afternoon hot chocolate went down well with a slice of malt loaf

The bedding has finally been changed, the washing is on the clothes horse to dry and I have had a cheese roll and opened a jar of Horlicks hot chocolate to try. It's better than the Ovaltine equivalent.

Re the gas leak
The amnesty has ended and more technology deployed.
Monday's holes have been filled and pounded by a noisy machine.
Large lorries came and went
There remains a man in a van with a noisy generator.
The holes seem to be waiting for tarmac to complete the work

More sunny than overcast for work visits this morning which obviously brought roadworks out to play, a set of temporary lights on average every 7 miles.
Wet afternoon but post WAH it stopped just long enough for a car borne visit to Tesco. Now torrential.
