Talking of things I don't need - have you had the Pashley Speed 5 out recently and what's it like to ride?
There's one that keeps cropping up on Ebay at a reasonable price, just needs the gears setting up and I'm very tempted with a savings pot maturing at the end of June...

I haven't ridden it that much, but I intend to use it more going forward. It's just I've had it stored in my upstairs flat over winter and couldn't be bothered carrying it up and down stairs.

Now that I have my shed, it will move outside and be more accessible.

I like it to ride. Anyone used to a road bike might find it a bit odd. The relaxed geometry means it corners more like a rod braked roadster than a modern bike, but it's pretty responsive and accelerates better than you think it should. It's very relaxing to ride and really smooth. The 28" wheels roll so we'll no matter what the surface.

I had issues getting the gear adjustment correct. It is a bit fernickity. I believe this is an issue with the 5 speed hub. I would actually have preferred it if mine was a 3 speed as they're less hassle.

First calming coffee of the day.
Went to get a slice of toasting bread out of the freezer and found the door very slightly not fully shut. Top drawer bakery products defrosted and ice creams acting like they had been in a fridge. Slightly floppy mackerel fillet but otherwise the rest of the stuff which are in the lower parts remained frozen. Must have acted like those open top freezers in the supermarkets.

Good morning from Suffolk where it's a sunny start to the day with just a little bit of wispy cloud. Coffee has been had to the normal Saturday background sounds of the radio and football on the local playing field.

What I do today will depend on how warm it gets later - will it be a gentle outing on a flat bar bike, a faster ride on a road bike or just a slouch in the deck chair in the garden with some reading material?

I know I shouldn't as I don't really have the space , it's nothing like my normal sort of bike, a 2-3 hour drive each way for collection and it probably wouldn't get ridden much. However it just looks so good and if it's still unsold at the end of June and the seller is open to a cheeky offer...

Been a busy morning with mother this morning but always rewarding in a way.

A couple of cuppas went down well.

Going to make a banana loaf next I think
