I'm hoping for a dry evening in Taunton today. After weeks of radio- and chemo-therapy, I'm now very restricted as to what I can do while my body deals with all the toxins it has been subjected to. So, I'm very much immobile. And the 3rd England vs India Twenty20 is scheduled for this evening. If you can all blow the rainclouds away from the ground I'll be very, very grateful.
You can all stop blowing. The rain stayed away from Taunton. England still need a lively 90 runs though.

Today is mine and Mrs73's 25th wedding anniversary so to celebrate we've had a lovely gentle day out at the coast.
Hope your celebrating didn't hurt too much.
A belated Happy Anniversary.

Went out for a pre-teatime walk late afternoon - only a couple of miles as I was keeping an eye on a nasty cloud formation that eventually passed just to the north and soaked Ipswich.

Since then not a lot has been done at all other than the washing up and I'm about to go and make the evening's hot chocolate.

First day of the working week completed. Thankfully only four this week thanks to yesterday's bank holiday. The new, improved, being nice boss hasn't lasted long. Back to normal micromanaging again!

I gave my wood another coat of Woodworm treatment after work.

I then took my Pashley out for about a twenty mile ride. It seems the latest attempt to adjust the gears has been successful as it didn't slip in fourth at all. It's amazing how smooth it is.

I think I will have an early night.

It's been a four-seasons-in-one-day kind of day here chez Casa Reynard.

Slept well enough. Downstairs, fed the cat, made a :cuppa: and took it upstairs to do some writing. I am making progress with the section of this chapter that's been a bit sticky.

Downstairs at a better hour. Chores done, and bins taken in - kitchen waste caddy left open after emptying, and there was a finger of water in the bottom. By then it had stopped raining, so went outside to do an hour's weeding. Stuff pulls out so much more easily when the soil is wet, and my empty green bin is no longer empty. Got lucky, as it started hosing with rain again as I came in. Also got some hailstones the size of peas.

Had a lovely luncheon of a fresh crusty white roll filled with luncheon meat, a fruit medley (kiwi, satsuma and some blueberries) plus a pot of tea.

Spent the afternoon clearing up in the utility room. A broken bar stool, an equally broken upright vacuum cleaner and a rather jury-rigged standard lamp have all been earmarked for the tip. I also found another cupboard full of clothes - those have been sorted, and I have one bag for the charity shop and one bag for the clothes bank. I'm actually starting to see a difference, but there's still a loooong way to go. Also cleared some broken glass - there were so many glass cake stands and dishes stacked one on top of another, that the ones on the bottom had actually collapsed from the weight.

I baked a batch of muesli flapjacks in my little mini oven.

A lovely supper of tofu & vegetable scramble on toast.

Was supposed to go to Hunstanton tomorrow with my friend Linda and her dogs, but the forecast is atrocious, so we've decided to do a stayputnik. I'll just have to put the bucket & spade back up on the loft...

A quiet evening is planned.
