Good morning from a 3rd floor hotel room in overcast Hitcin. Today's view is a private car park just visible between buildings - I'm happy to forgo the view as I was allocated a top floor, end of corridor room so no noises from above or passing guests.

The usual oversized cooked breakfast has been had to see me through the day and a decent rest has let it settle ahead of the walk to the train station shortly. Instead of going home via Cambridge (which is the obvious route) I'm going via Farringdon and Stratford. It's longer, but I'll get home at exactly the same time and will be on the move all the time instead of standing around at Ipswich for almost an hour.

And so that was Saturday morning. Whilst the washer was doing its thing the bag of old non low energy lightbulbs deposited at the charity shop and a spray of weedkiller bought from The Range as I missed the end of season clearances of such in the supermarkets.

Washing hung out, slightly bemused by white and black t-shirts until I realised they were the ones bought from Lidl last week and put straight in the wash tub.

DPD deliveried the missing order I chased yesterday and the weedkiller deployed. Then the cars windows cleaned on the inside, hoovered and then the screen wash topped up and topped up and... Must have been virtually empty which would not have been good for the MOT on Monday.

This morning’s single figure temperatures were a bit of a shock to the system ! Some nice sunshine but a properly cold wind, did two and a half hours on the bike and was glad to get back to the newly switched on central heating of the house. I switched it on last night when I saw the forecast, a decision that I’m very happy with.

A fairly good morning.
Load of whites and the bedsheet in the washer, laundered, now line dried and all fresh.
Out on the bike, couple hours spent in local parkland.
Back, cuppa, download some photos off the camera...well, only one was worthy but had a good few opportunities.
Another cuppa, mowed the lawn, four grass boxes of cuttings...wow, didnt think it was that long. General tidy up in the garden, lawn really does look quite rich and verdent.
Good grief, just looked at the clock, its 15.30...well, a fairly good day so far.

Afternoon and house windows cleaned in and out; the bedroom ones fully open while the bathroom window is pivoted inward of the side allowed anarm to its outsude glazing.

New bike had a lever bleed which initially looked like it was not going to occur as my bleed cup needed an adapter. Looked up what was needed and by its description thought did I buy one. Checked the email order receipt and yes I did. Remarkably it was in the first place I looked. Bubbles a plenty. Slight snag with fitting an adapter was that the hydraulic fluid, which had not been visible when I had fitted it, was now at the top of the adapter. Hence a clean up of the brake lever assembly needed folllowed a dosing of water and left to dry before refitting the cover.

Then fitted the new saddle. Bit of a Rubix cube but got there in the end.

Now the washing to retrieve from the rotary airer.
