There must be places where you can touch three counties in a few minutes.

Just north of Hitchin you can touch Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire within a few miles.

Of course not. It's genius ;-)

Yep, I did every county in 2016, but just every county of the island of Britain and so I didn't include the Isle of Wight or Northern Ireland. I was also trying to see stuff other people recommended in each county and so it wasn't the most efficient route. I didn't have a cycle computer but estimate the total distance was about 5,000 miles and I took 5 months over it. The most efficient route would be a lot, lot less. The book's called Route Britannia and I had to split it into two parts, north and south, otherwise it would have been like War and Peace.
