Wanted a Brommie, but needed a new hi-fi system so compromised with a Dahon today. Needs a good clean lube and adjust but nice and light with a Nexus 7 speed hub and got it for under my £200 budget.
I almost gave my D7HG away (2008 model if I recall correctly - tendency for handlebars to fold while in use/ ominous creaks from frame joint/ bits falling off/ easy to max out on the level. But good brakes). Much happier with the brompton.
There was a major recall on the steerer hinge, the design has changed on the newer ones. There appears to be a family rift at Dahon with two of the family setting up a rival company. I have 3 other bikes, the Dahon won't get used much.
