Blimey! What stuck in my memory was my hands being so numb from the cold that I couldn't work the shifters just before the halfway stop.

Those were the days when we used to get quite a peloton on the SMRbtH. That particular perversion seems to have fallen out of favour of late. Which is a shame as it's the best way of staying awake through the Saturday.
