Neil,

Are you still banging on about the Burton Marsh Greenway (for that is what it is called) being open or not?

As for the rest of the route, I think the route I posted is sensible. But if you want to suggest alternatives, far better to put a map up rather than a list of textual instructions.

The signage at the Harp end still states that the path from that end is for walkers only, the welsh end never had a sign to re-erect so it can be argued it is permitted from there.

No need for another map since my textual instructions directly relate to the mileage markers on your map.

For anyone else reading. The route is open.

The bit along the prom is fine too, every bugger uses it. In fact it was two years before I realized it wasn't a cycle path, after all, it is actually a road, though a maintenance one and when you get further down towards New Brighton it's way better than using the Sustrans route. They should just make the whole Prom from Hoylake to New Brighton a shared use path, it's pretty much how it's used.

And this belligerent dog walker doesn't use the Wirral Way at the wknd, too many belligerent cyclists

Used the Burton marshes route for the first time on the way back from Bala on Sunday... seemed very open to me

Was actually very pleasant until Denhall Lane... That was the last thing my tired legs needed

It is open from the Welsh end as it has no 'walkers only' signs that end unlike the Harp end.

Just read the signs instead of assuming it's open, you wont have to wait long for it to actually be legal. What other laws/conventions do you ignore? Cyclists get enough of a bad press for RLJ and pavement cycling without adding trespass.

Suggestion; position yourself at the entrance to the route this weekend and pass out your wisdom on the subject to the several hundred cyclists you'll encounter.

Because I couldn't care less what you have to say on the subject.

PS - Don't forget your clipboard, you need to look official.

HTH.

So because everyone else ignores it, then it's OK is it?

I suppose your forum name should have been a clue to your attitude...
