Nice and simple really...

Chip butties. Should they be on brown/wholemeal baps or white baps?
He was sent out last night for chips and baps and came home with wholemeal yet again!

(oh and baps = bread rolls/barn cakes/muffins/stotties/any other variation on the word bread roll!)
Breadcake.

And you lot need some education. it's not a Pitta, doorstep, or cob. It's a barmcake. Chip barm.

^^^^^^ exactly this^^^^^

Sliced white bread. Oh and red sauce as well. I know @Easytigers will agree with me about that.
In this case it's no sauce - salt and lots of vinegar!!!
However, I lived in Edinburgh for nearly 5 years and got quite a taste for the chippy sauce that they serve...It's a weird mix of brown sauce and vinegar (I think!!! That's what it tasted like anyway - I guess it's a secret recipe!)

I like Skol

I might be a bit late to this discussion and haven't read every page but a chip muffin should be served on a MUFFIN!

I only ever have chips (which are low fat oven chips) with fish. I have a low fat diet so have gone off chip shop chips.

No butter or whatever but a nice layer of tartare sauce gives it a little kick and and holds the chips in place. Generally this is on nice malted wholemeal bread.

As the carbohydrate part of a meal this is a good healthy option.
