Proper white morning "roll" none of this bap nonsense or thick white bread, butter, salt and vinegar and cuppa tea or bottle Irn Bru. Think i've just offered to take you on a date!

Pulling through
Processed white bread, the sort that turns doughy when pressed. Too much butter so it rolls down your chin. Enough vinegar to sting your eyes. Salt.

Unpeeled spud tossed in cumin seeds may well be nice but it's not chips.

Recognisable grain, seed, roughage or colour in the bread is unacceptable and a barm cake's way too floury for the job.

Breadcake is typical Yorkshire deception designed to make the civilised look daft in Leeds' bakeries. (Don't ask.) Yorkies, you're just kidding yourselves on that score.

Cut an unsliced white loaf in half, hollow out the centre then fill with chips. Curry or gravy optional.

Deeelish.
