Hey Hey Hey, passed my exams !!! treating myself to a new bike.

I Have gone for the Claud Butler Strada, its the 2007 model and the shop has done it all in for about £500 including vat, build etc etc.

I have gone for the straight bars on it, not too sure on the dropped yet.

The guy who builds the bike is on holiday, therefore get it in about 2 weeks, in the mean time out on my mountain bike which are for kids !!!!!

No no no get drops! You can ride on the flats or the hoods while getting used to the drops. Drops give you more choices of hand positions and you'll save money getting them now rather than upgrading later. Brakes can be operate easily from the hoods as well so no need to worry on that score.

Congrats on the buy, enjoy it!

chipmonster Hey Hey Hey, passed my exams !!!
CONGRATS and WELL DONE that chipmonster !:biggrin:

treating myself to a new bike.
... now there's a man with his priorities right

I would echo jashburnham's
No no no get drops!
Also, the gears and shifters are set up for Tiagra/drop bars, it would seem none too smart to go messing around with it.
..therefore get it in about 2 weeks, in the mean time..
.. go to lots of bike shops, get some trial rides on drop bar bikes and understand what we are saying ! ;)

That's a pretty neat price too
So all you need now is patience
