Although not as long as that, Sram do seem to recommend a very long rear outer. If you follow their guidelines on a large frame some non Sram standard inners are almost too short.Thats also a huge amount of cable for the RD.
Its how sram instructs you to do it, the angle the cable comes out of the chainstay that was the correct length to get it to enter the mech in a streight line, if it goes in at an angle it mucks up the shifting, same with my old tarmacThats also a huge amount of cable for the RD.

I agree it looks rather silly they recocment 33 cm for most frames but with internals it depends where it exits fromYup, having never run or used SRAM, it's TNM TO @Hacienda71 for the explanation
