New chain and cassette at last!

I bought the bike (Dawes Discovery 501) new in 2007 and after 11 years, multiple tours and 10k miles+ I treated it to a new chain & cassette yesterday. When it arrived I put on bar ends and shortly after M+'s then apart from cleaning, lubricating & replacing brake blocks I have done zero maintenance, never even adjusted the gears!

I love the thing and it's best thing I've ever bought.

That's serious mileage on a single chain and cassette! Might be worth checking the chainrings too depending on how worn the chain was.

Still got the original everything on my bike. Year 2000 I think I had it built. It has been ridden a fair bit as well including conditioning rides (long) for an end to end that never happened.

It is my life goal for the chain wear indicator to fall between the links!

I stopped using a computer years ago but 10k is a conservative mileage figure, it could have done a few k more. The chainrings are ok for now.
