You see some real horrors here but this has got to be one of the worst. He was at the roadside checking under the bonnet. After a while he got back in and twisted a couple of wires together. " That's to spark 'em" he explained.

Theres an ancient camper van parked just down the road from us that looks like a shed on wheels, I've only seen it move once, its probably growing roots with the amount of time its stood there.

I did VSO in Nigeria for three years from 1986, I was teaching Introductory Technology (similar to what we call D.T. in the UK) in the south east of the country. Some taxis's there at that time were quite unbelievable.... bars welded across the cabin on the inside to hold the body out, holes in the floor, bald tyres (I mean slick) etc etc, all Peugeot 405's or 505's....incredibly durable cars! Still traveled many many miles in them though ^_^^_^^_^. Good times.
