I so wished I'd gotten a photo of it but while working in Uruguay circa 2007, I was walking past a filling station and became aware of a popping, misfiring wreck of a Fiat 500, the square bodied one from the 80s perhaps. Mismatched panels, no dash, wires visible all over the place, hardly any interior, a right old...running...wreck
Ah well never mind, if a broken down truck with no brakes doesn't get you a loony with an automatic assault rifle will. Some of the cars/trucks in the US I saw last time I was there weren't in much better shape. Some states don't have inspections (MOTs) as it infringes on civil liberties. Lots of YouTube videos on this subject.

If you want a real laugh look at 'Just Rolled in' on YouTube. The stupidity of some Americans never ceases to amaze me.In Canada once I saw a car with a shock absorber failed and a massive wheel imbalance. The wheel was literally leaving the road on each revolution. It was a front wheel too so the driver was getting a proper workout through the steering wheel. On they merrily went though.
