I doubt its fake. I've been a victim of this myself some years ago. It ain't funny and was the reason I bought my first camera. Cops did sod all even tho I had the reg and they pulled the driver in for questioning. It was the second incident I'd reported to the police and they didn't do anything the first time either, even tho again they spoke to the driver. Best thing would be if the person was identified and sacked from their job... Then the copycats start thinking twice.

Reported the video to facebook.
Rather predictably:

My email in reply - actually rather impressed it got through rather than bouncing back from some 'no reply' mailbox.

And a couple of hours later - hurrah! A (very) small victory for sanity...

So first off it didnt violate their community standards, then 10 minutes later it did.

Reminds me of a great quote, "I am a man of great principles, but if you don't like them I have plenty more"

I wonder if that is partly the fault of the 'tick box' reporting system on Facebook? Some underpaid/unpaid intern gets the thing in front of them, sees its been reported for graphic violence and sees 'only' a cyclist being pushed onto a grassy verge. Does not engage brain and hits the 'reject report' button. They obviously need the implications pointing out.
Or else complaints about that video just happen to have hit a critical level so they ban it...?

Or, was convinced to reconsider when 1000 other users reported the post.

An Garda Siochana were seeking to get it removed. They'd identified the poster by his facebook account.

Edited due to mis-spelling

Pulled at the request of An Garda Siochana.
"Tweeted from An Garda Síochána earlier today."

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
And some people question why I ride on the side of the cycleway/lane furthest from motorists except (when passing other riders) and want posts or intermittent kerbs to encourage these idiots to stay away

It's a shame that motorists don't have to have some sort of identification plate and be licensed and insured, isn't it?

The Garda already have his home address, vehicle registration(D plate) & name. Also its not his first time doing this sort of thing.
What more do they need?

You could put any amount of street furniture in place, but if someone sets their mind on doing this sort of thing, nothing will stop them.
And on the type of road in the video, "N", street furniture is being kept to a minimum.

Now its the turn of the Police in Derry to investigate a similar case.
