Yeah, I don't mind a little Rodney Crowell either. Always liked this one:

I like Rodders, my favourite LP is probably a bit too country for most, 'Let the Picture Paint itself', my favourite track is Best Years of our Lives, superb twin fiddle, steel and guitar break, what's not to like?! You're spared hearing it as I can't find it on youtube.

Another great record of his is The Houston Kid, hard hitting stuff, some autobiographical, that deals with, domestic violence, drugs, Aids. There's also a fun tune based around Cash's Walk the Line, I guess you can do that if he's your Father Outlaw! Rock of my Soul from THK is outstanding IMO.

Saw the thread and it made me think of a song I would hear at work a lot back in the 80s. I still remembered it but could never find it, I thought it was done by the Sweethearts of the Rodeo...it was actually the Forester Sisters. I finally found it a few minutes ago! I could not find it on Youtube but I found it at Myspace. I don't know if it will come up here. I have to press the arrow to make it start. It is sort of girlie but I still like it.

* I can't embed it on here but here is the link if anyone wants to hear it. It was played a lot on the radio for a couple of months around here. You may have heard it too.

I hate to say this but I loved the blues style evident in Fate's Right Hand. I'm not much of a country fan, although I occasionally hear something I like.
