I had a full hip replacement on the 25th of July and this week I have been out cycling, the first time I have been able in 18 years. The old arthritic hip was hell and I had little movement so had to sell my bikes. What inspired me following the operation was the possibility of cycling again. As soon as I was able I was on the excersise bike then picked up an old mountain bike from the 1990,s, fitted new road tyres and tubes, greased and oiled it up and I have not looked back. My kids are 13 and 9 and this morning we all went out for 2 hours and they abso
utely loved it. Next project is to save up for a road bike to experience the difference and advances in bike technology. The new ceramic hip is brilliant and I am totally pain free. 50 years old and looking forward to my renewed cycling adventures
