Jean-François Bernard. Looking back he was a great rider but at the time a huge let down for the French who made their feelings known and went off looking elsewhere for the next French Tour winner....still looking.

He was the great hope as you say. Too much expectation on him.

My needle thingy doesn't have nearly as many syllables as yours, but the folk over at vinylengine don't seem to feel that holds it back too much:

Oh, my one comes complete with the original Stereohedron stylus, in immaculate nick, FWIW. That's quite a lot of syllables. Immaculate condition, sorry.

Stilton Audio owned by (the sadly missed) Ken Proctor specialised in modifying cartridges by machining off the standard mounting plate/cradle and replacing it with a more solid one, in the case of the Nagaoka this meant changing from an oblong plastic component to a machined circular metal (magnesium) one resulting in a much more solid attachment to the arm/headshell and reducing resonance in the mount itself.
