Mine was a place called the Agincourt in Camberley, Surrey from about 1989 to 1998!!!

A great Heavy Metal nightclub.

We used to start at either the Bridgers Inn or the Kings Arms and end up at the "Ag" drinking large amounts of Snakebite black, and then leaving at about 3am to errm participate in some Jamaican cigarettes!

I do not condone the use of narcotics anymore being a responsible father of my lovely 'lil girl!!

Yes, that's the one!

And Dukes in Chelmsford was one of the better ones. Quite an easy pulling place! :becool:

This is what I heard about hollywood, and the first reference I ever heard to a cattle market.

Coming from north london it all sounded like babylonical carnal carnage.

None of you old codgers will have heard of the following, but here goes:

The Coven, Oxford
The Drome, SE1
Tyssen Street, Hackney
The Fridge, Brixton

OK, the fridge is better known, but the others are way too druggy for all the lentil powered pootlers that post here

I once went to a black place in clapton called reggies or something. That was druggy. You could have brought an ice cube tray and made hash cubes out of the air in there.

The Sugarhouse in Lancaster. We used to have to stand outside begging the Uni students to sign us in.

Then the Pelican in Aberdeen - "Nae Taches"

pre uni days were spent largely at the banshee in manchester, although there were frequent 6th form trips to 42nd street.

uni days in sheffield saw me at the limit, the leadmill and some other goth club near bramhall lane.

post uni the venue and the ritz in manchester was the favoured port of call for me and the now mrs alecetc, with 42nd street (again) a popular new year event, with occasional forays to the brickhouse.

that said, i was always more a pub man than a club man.

All Essex-based:

TOTS - Southend
Room at the Top - Ilford
Elliots - south of Brentwood
Gold Mine - Canvey Island
The Bentley - Brentwood

And occasionally London, but I never enjoyed going to a disco club; the music was always too loud and I could never hear what the birds were saying!

Give me a traditional pub anytime - with some half-decent women! ;)

Or a wine bar where a mate used to work and slipped me a bottle of wine every time I went there!

Mine similar:-

Kings Club, Canvey (worked there for a while in my 'formative' years!)
Gold Mine, Canvey
Pink Toothbrush, Rayleigh
Double 6 Pub, Basildon
Talk of the South, Southend (then changed to TOTS, then whatever it is called now)
Zero 6, Southend (then Zeros)
Marquee Club, London (occasional live acts just before they got famous)

First went to a junior disco at the Gold Mine when I was 8, took my wife out there for a first date when I was 17 (she was wearing a jump suit and I had hair to my shoulders :o) and now it's gone. The hair as well. Wife's still there though.

I like most types of music, so one week I would be at a Radio Caroline roadshow headbanging at the Double 6, then at a Jazz Funk do down at the Gold Mine with all the trendies.
