Touchscreens, to be rationalised, with no 'safety related feature' access being allowed via them

Whats interesting is our 7 year old car fulfils all these criteria but yet still has a touchscreen that works very well as 2nd display for when I need to do work from the car.

Also, a pox on lane departure and collision avoidance systems that don't work reliably and can't be disabled. I know people who have rejected new cars because of these. A collision warning just because you're going over a narrow bridge*, knowing the car might slam on the brakes at any time, is terrifying. And lane departure doesn't work on much-repaired UK roads with faded markings.
