So, after a few years of various job changes, I have 'settled' into a desk job...It is not what I ever wanted to do but hey-ho! I am in my late 20's so still have time to change things up...

Anyone have a fulfilling non-desk job that I can be envious of?

You want to be a mechanical engineer, preferably running the CNC suite at a university where every job is different. Its good.

I have a job that is part desk bound, part Production Engineering, part Development, part man management. I tend to be on the go most days, often not sitting down at all, and sometimes in a queue on the M6. In all no two days are the same and it is very satisfying if quite exhausting and pressured.

I spent a lot of years in telecomms, ended up as Technical Admin in a test unit, power without responsibility. I think the boss may have missed me when I left

In my younger days I spent a spell abroad working as a driver and bodyguard. Shooter and everything.

Now I drive a desk part time for the company next door to the place I just retired from :-/
