...if you need to go to Happisburgh, don't ask the locals for 'Happy's-burg'...they'll go all faux-baffled, then smirk at you. It's pronounced 'Hares-brer' apparently. Obvious really.
but do walk along the clifftop to appreciate the speed of erosion, and see the roads that just end in broken tarmac over the precipice; or see the tangle of abandoned wooden groins on the beach - very photogenic; and pop into the Hill House pub to see what beers are on, and sample a pint or three...

As it happens, I've just been looking at places to stay in Norfolk. I have been there several times for the wonderful coastline and birdwatching and excellent seafood. I use Tesco rewards to help! £30 of Tesco rewards convert to £100 off the price of rental. Even without this discount, places are quite reasonable this time of year. Blimey, the last one listed here (frenchmans) is £88 for 7 nights! Wells next the Sea is expensive, so I go for a bit more inland. Here are the ones I've bookmarked:

If Mrs R can stand roughing it a bit, I'd recommend Deepdale Camping which does 'glamping'. Any visit to Noth Norfolk is incomplete without a trip to Cookie's Crab Shop in Salthouse.

Norwich itself is worth a visit. Don't miss the Cathedral.

Someone else has mentioned the Marian Shrines at Walsingham. As well a visiting the two shrines, I'd recommend poking your nose into the Orthodox chapel, St Seraphim's, in the old railway station.... the ikon painting is superb.

Someone else has recommended the steam railway - it's fab! For bird watching, there's several RSPB reserves on the North Norfolk coast and, of course, there's the seals at Blakeney Point.

Avoid south Norfolk... unless it's a visit to the English Whisky Company - and steer clear of Great Yarmouth. The only thing Great about Yarmouth is the road out of it.
+1 for Deepdale from me too
