Norton ghost or Acronis true image are the programs, I use acronis.
It makes a mirror image of your drive which can be saved and restored onto a new drive.

I like Acronis TrueImage 10 and use it, but it has one fatal flaw with its scheduled backups in that it fills my 400Gb backup drive and then fails to backup, saying the drive is full. This happens despite setting it up to only do so many / use so much space and then delete the older ones. I've tried everything from the Acronis Help forums to no avail - so I now have to manually delete older image backups when the disk is starting to look full....

Doesn't actually inspire confidence in TrueImage being able to restore my system should it ever fail, though !

Is there an equivalent of rsync in the Windows world? Tried Bacula?

Reading the documentation, it sounds a bit complex - I'm looking for an easy ride. Acronis 10 looks the part. Thanks to those who suggested it. I'm looking to see if it's still bundled with any drives as I think there's an Acronis 11 now (I've read some not so good reviews of it - hence going for 10).
