All my dogs are named for bassists.
I've had Lemmy, currently have (Jack) Bruce and Geddy. The latter could have easily been Jet (Jet Harris), Phil (Lynott) or Bomber (Harris) but Mrs D chose Geddy from the shortlist.

Indeed, and they've not even got the good manners to be coy about it.
Still, if fans want to be bent over and tupped because their idols are down to their last 5 mill rather than through any genuine artistic desire to perform then thats their business.

I have to admit I didn;t know they completed any tour - never mind the ones stated
basically I try to ignore them
and it Liam's need for cash over-rides his "anger issues" (or whatever)
then it does seem to imply it is controllable
OK - he might have grown up a bit - but still

but maybe the Gallagher bros feel its their artistic desire to perform as well, Id imagine the buzz of a crowd of 80,000 worshipping you, is just as good as the feel of the bank balance increasing.
its just I saw Roger Taylor on the one show last night promoting his new solo album, and tour, the guy is nearly in his 80s, I dont think he needs the money as Queen seem to be able to print money (whilst never delivering the ultimate things the fans want but thats another debate).
and what they played of his music, sounded pretty awful, like exactly what youd expect a musician whose whole career was as a drummer nearly in his 80s music to sound like, its not like a Phil Collins style switch to lead vocals, and maybe is better than Ringos solo stuff, but strip away the inbuilt Queen fanbase for him, and that stuff really isnt worth the time it took to record.
but they asked him so why are you doing this, and he claimed it was just his musicians desire to perform, play new songs, go on tour etc. almost like he just enjoys the process of touring with a band, performing, travelling (even though lots of musicians who tour say those are the worst bits) and maybe that selfish reward of being in a room of people who adore you, just for being you.
why wouldnt Noel & Liam even though theyre still "young" in terms of the music biz, when youve got the Rolling Stones still touring, feel the same way.

Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee have told every interviewer who'll listen how they felt like they still had unfinished business musically, how Neil Peart's untimely death was an involuntary end to that phase of their careers. Oasis havent been so forthright if that is the case.
And yes, I've played life many times and its good fun to say the least. Having said that, even at the level I was doing it, pubs, clubs and functions, the tiresome elements quickly overcome any thrill, and I doubt rhe bucketmouth brothers feel any different. Their motivation, Liam's in particular, after taking the money and running is pretty clearly financial. After binning it because of all the negative aspects, which also did their own relationship considerable damage, something significant motivated that change of heart.
Chuck in that Nilles, Lifeson and Lee in particular are all top flight musicians, not not an accusation that can be aimed at any past or present Oasis member, and I know who I prefer to see.

Me too, but in Glasgow. Was a strangely detached experience. They're obviously great musicians but they didn't exactly exude stage craft.
Like Taylor, everyone has their favourite Rush era and mine is Moving Pictures to Hold Your Fire (+ A Farewell to Kings, of course). Lifeson pretty much said he hated that era and it was mostly driven by Peart's infatuation with the Police. Given he's out of the picture now, I'm not sure the set list would be for me.
