I suspect you can add more ultra processed food into the mix and people not eating at normal times. Used to 3 meals a day for most people, now its seems like its 24/7 grazing.

It gets to something where people no longer even need to walk as far as the car to obtain lard. A few taps of the smartphone and a steaming hot coronary is delivered straight to your door.

Could well be healthier, but it's harder to judge the quantity that way isn't it? That's one of the reasons I dislike buffets, you just keep nibbling away and probably end up eating more than at a sit down meal.

I wonder what % of the population actually seriously considers the amount they are eating, far less what is actually in it.
I'd guess single figures. I remember those diet TV shows where they would lay out a family's intake for a week. They were always stunned.

After a lengthy day out at Cowes Week (lots of fun!), we found ourselves at a bus station with an hour to kill at 10pm last night.
Only place open was a Maccy’s.
I managed to restrict myself to a ‘saver menu chicken scrap’, but the place was rammed with people stuffing their faces….not a great time to eat.

Easy access to BadFood™, lack of self control and sometimes just portion control….

Yes, by some poor underpaid courier in all weathers. It's remarkable how many people who like to lecture us about "Equity" amd "social justice" seem to avail themselves of this with no awareness of the irony.

While a lot of it is lack of discipline, we could do with the food industry getting a massive shake up too. The central aisles in supermarkets are rammed with absolute crap.

People need to get back to minimally processed single ingredient foods. You would need a degree in chemistry to know what's in some of the stuff on the shelves now.
