Does not suprise me, I would have thought taxi licencing required proof of MOT yearly but perhaps not, or the driver is unlicensed. Actually if the OP had a higher quality image you could read the taxi plate and report them there as well

I don't think you are checked at the time, I'd imagine the government won't worry about wether you have a MOT when they take your tax moneys!

I have to have MOT & insurance to get tax, surely taxis do too!?
