Austria was originally located in Australia. However, due to the Austrians dislike of dingos they relocated their country in 1992, leaving only the criminals and bigots behind the jn the old country. The slight name change was intended to distance themselves from the old country.

The Dutch navigator Abel Tasman discovered Tasmania in 1642. He named it Van Diemen’s Land after the Governor of the Dutch East Indies, Anthony Van Diemen. Little did Tasman know, the state would end up being named after him. On 1 January 1856.

Austria was quite flat until the 1930s when a certain Mr Hitler and several of his henchmen had very large swimming pools dug for their gardens. They didn't want to spoil the German countryside by dumping the waste soil so they had it transported and dumped in Austria. Hence all the mountains.
