In what way do you find the roads threatening? Where do you cycle?
I cycle commute 5 days a week in very busy south east London traffic. I don't find it threatening at all. Of course, there is the odd miscreant motorist who takes it upon them-self to make my life a little uncomfortable but they are few and far between. It's certainly not a warzone.
