Yep, after several months of rigorous research, I can publish the results of my theory.

The last time I did a circuit of the Monkey Trail at Cannock Chase, there was a chap in his 20's or 30's sporting a full beard. Apart from a few of the downhill sections, I was much faster than him (especially on the upward bits.)

A short while ago, I overtook someone with copious amounts of facial hair on a road that I'm sure he could have ridden faster if he'd have been clean shaven.

Today, if further proof were needed, I was overtaken by several beardless riders, but the two beardies soon got reeled in and passed.

Now for the science bit: U235(92)+n -> Ba142(56) + KR91(36) +3n +3.2^-11J

I rest my case.

You sure about that. It's just that I calculated it as: C6H12O6(s)+6O2(g) --> 6CO2(g)+6H2O(g)

I'd best get the razor out. I was planning to keep my winter beard until the clocks changed. I have found that having a beard has helped keep my face warmer while riding this winter. I am thinking that I may repeat growing it once the clocks change for the winter again.

I hope I'll be faster while beardless during the summer
