Mini lejogger (9) has never been keen on bicycling like his dad. He had a few offs when learning so is always a bit nervous.
Today I persuaded him to go around the block with me to try and build his confidence, and we ended up going around 6 times he loved it so much!
So proud of him
The only downside was when we got preoccupied with me showing off by doing a bunny hop, and he lost concentration, forgot he had a way of steering or even brakes and went straight into the back or a parked Beemer! No damage to either party though, and I guess it wouldn't be the same if we didn't have some sort of incident when he's out!

Ok I managed a hot ride down by the water and then managed to find somewhere to consume some alcohol and watch tennis - what a fantastic day (Mr Summerdays is still not feeling well though - I've offered to go to the allotment and water for him to make up for being out all day).

I did 20 miles to my friend's and back, though with Madam's 25-30kg in the trailer it felt a lot more than that by the time I got home.
Pleased to say that ear plugs were not needed - I ran her beside the bike til she was shattered and then stuck her in the trailer. She was so grateful to be off her feet that she just sat back and enjoyed the ride.

Crikey. I wasn't expecting a lab behind your bike having misread the post as 'Madam's 25-30kg trailer' rather than 'in the trailer'. Maybe a JRT or something of a sensible weight to pull
Then again, had you owned a JRT, you wouldn't need a trailer.Its a great trailer though. Was it wildly expensive? I have a very old JRT who used to go in a nylon basket affair thing on my old mtb when she got knackered.

No idea how much it cost but don't think it was particularly expensive. A friend bought it from a company on ebay for her collie but the tyre exploded as she was pumping it up, denting the wheel. She contacted the company and asked for a replacement wheel but they sent her a whole trailer instead.
I bought a new tyre, her son bashed the wheel back into shape and gaffa-taped the rough edges, and I got a freebie.
