Right, I am going to be blunt here.

Sometimes, randomly, my testicles - mainly my left one - aches pretty badly. Not a crippling pain, but a very noticable one anyway.

Anything of concern? - cycling related?

Also, the pain can arise after "private time" :S

Well I did say I was going to be blunt....

Have you examined yourself?

Get it checked out, at your (our) age we are most at risk from testicular cancer.

Don't mean to worry you-but it's true.

I check at least twice a month

I get this.
I've been to the Docs several times to get checked, but sems it's from riding sometimes. Even so, I'd still be at the Docs if I were you.

If it's been going on for a while I'd suggest you visit your doctor.

1. happens rarely...maybe 2/3 times a month max.
2. my doctor is my best friends dad - need to get that changed!

I know a friend who had his scanned. The explanation was a kind of testicular varicose veins, he had similiar pain with no explanation, that came and went.

I had testicular cancer three years ago. Caught it early; day surgary, one course of chemo no big deal. A mate of mine who had it a few years ago left it too long, it spread and nearly killed him.
Don't take any chances, get it checked.
Oh and if your GP says 'it looks like fluid not cancer you're a bit old for that' make sure you still go to the specialist who may have a quick fondle of your bollocks and say 'you've got cancer, we'll have you in straight away'.

not telling you
You could be getting a torsion twist. Its where the bollock turns round too much and cuts off blood supply to the sperm cord. No big deal, just painfull. Hot bath and some bubbles does the trick. Or you could get a vasectomy, it worked for me, dont get twists anymore.

......or it could be somat else....be safe, have it checked out.

A mate of mine got a torsion during a rugby game we played in a few months ago. He found it very painful and now wears a cup.

I would definately get it checked out. It's the part of the body you have to be reasured about. Hope everythings OK.

Montage,
have you had the snip?
I had the snip about 8 years ago and I get the pain in the tubes area which sometimes is very painful and other times it's just a bit of discomfort.
I have been and had scans twice now and fortunately nothing abnormal found.
Worth getting it checked though to be on the safe side.
