Yes, but I like it. I grew up with Dutch children who introduced me and got me hooked on, Dubbel Zout licorice.

You got a like, but I can't stand surströmming. I lived in Sweden for 14 years and ate it twice. xx(xx(

The smell, IMO, is worse than the taste, but the smell is still terrible. There will not be a third time.

Thts that really stinky stuff ,i think Rick Stien even disliked it

I would sooner not dislocate a shoulder again, TBH.
It was a little ouchy.
By which I mean I screeched, cried, whimpered and quite possibly begged.
It was not my most heroic hour.
I saw someone dislocate their shoulder whilst they were swimming (in the deep end, natch) That looked a little uncomfortable. Fortunately there was also a doctor in the pool who told us all to p *ss off and then put it back.

It's a bit more complicated than that...

I quite liked it. I brought a tin home, but my then girlfriend refused to let me open it.

I hope I'll only once leave a job after 21 years without a clear idea of what I am going to do next.

Working in inland Egypt and telling them I will eat what they eat....nah, never again.

Some dishes looked like a bowl of...well...i won't spoil your dinner.
Fried eggs so undercooked, jeez, ....
Stuffed pigeon...looked like it was full of maggots.
Finding the fridge one evening and subsequently finding all the dishes I'd not eaten....and realising it wasn't freshly prepared each day.

No wonder I suffered possibly THE biggest dose of the squits I ever had in my life.

I wasted far too many years grafting, I'll not do that again.

If it's things we've had to do (as opposed to things we chose to do) then one of my Foundry experiences is up there,

We had a tilting Furnace that held about 1/2 a ton of molten Brass, looked something like this,
Tilting-Melting-Furnace.png

It ran on 'fuel oil' but was lit initially by Calorgas propane from one of those big (48kg?) orange bottles with a reinforced plastic tube connecting it to the burner head which over the years had been slowly shortened as metal droplets had melted the section where it entered the burner.

One day shortly before a 'pour' the crucible cracked and not just a small crack but a catastrophic failure which dumped the whole contents onto the floor and the 4ft tall gas bottle was stood next to the blower fan in about 3 inches of molten Brass. There were only two of us in full safety kit at the time so me and the furnaceman had to rush in and 'rescue' the cylinder, luckily nearby was a 45gallon waterbarrel that we could dump it in before heading out the door pretty rapidly.
Took a while for the heart-rate to return to normal after that.
