Very nice condition BL 1300, this one the higher spec MG version. It's good to see a few of the more run of the mill cars being preserved. A common enough car back in the day (less so in MG or vanden plas versions) but far less popular now than Moggie Minors or Minis

My first car after I passed my test was an Austin 1100. Went through a few engines with it.
Bought a wrecked Austin 1300gt from a scrap yard where my mate worked.
Swapped the engine and interior and fancy bits onto my 1100, but left the 1100 gearbox in it.
It used to go like stink up to about 45mph and then run out of gears.
Loved it
My cousin did that with a Seat Ibiza after cooking the original 1L engine. Put a 1.4 in it, mated to the 1L gearbox. Acceleration low down was unbelievable but you quickly ran out of gears.
It's the Ipswich to Felixstowe classic vehicle run followed by a display on Felixstowe prom this Sunday.
Their idea of a classic are those built on or before 3rd May 1995
