From Sunday best to down right ratty the 68/69 Charger always look cool .

Dreadful car in real life though.
Usual 'straight-line'performance, 9" drums all round, optional 9" (or 10"?) discs on the front
The bigger engines make it move fairly quickly (426 'Hemi' & 440 'Magnum')
They're huge! (but the SuperBird looks even longer, with the added nose-cone)

Did I ever tell you Reynard about the pursuit I got into with a Mini.

I was in an S60R, a quick scoot at the time, and held on to it about town, but the moment we hit the A45 it just disappeared toward the horizon like nothing we'd ever seen. My oppo just burst out laughing.

It turned up a few days later and some other uniforms had him. Turned out it had a rear mounted Volvo whoteblock with the thick end of 700 BHP.

Yeah, you did.

Power-to-weight would've been similar to an F1 / F3000 car. In a Mini - which isn't designed for that, it'd be, well, scary.

A couple of early display arrivals for the Festival Italia at Brands Hatch on Sunday

Firstly a Fiat 131 Abarth Stradale built up to Group 4 Rally spec

Secondly a 'slightly' modified Fiat 500 with an Alfa Romeo boxer 1.7 litre powerplant.

More wheels than sense
And still has the potential to be embarrassed by a Mini...

Horses under the bonnet are useless if you can't steer and can't stop.

And the Charger does neither of those but it's still very cool .

I also love the '57 Chevy Bel Airs so handling dynamics are not top of my list

I'm the opposite. I'd rather have the Mini!

Well, I do. So I guess I'm biased

I'd prefer a '55
Either black, or 'grey primer', in homage to 'American Graffiti', or 'Two Lane Blacktop'

You cant really imagine
While I had a 66 Countryman with an twin carb 1100 transplanted in it, that was pokey enough but a friend had a 1300 in hers...you simply couldn't pull away quickly at junctions, the tyres couldn't grip and it just used to bounce and tramp itself along until it found some grip.
A tad buttock clenching when you got it wrong.with traffic bearing down on you . Those were the days when you thought of something and just did it

Rest of the cars were pretty standard...probably explains it
