Changed hemispheres!
but my mileage has already been poor this year, and it's about to get considerably worse
Well we may have found some one more pessimistic than the weather forecast!
your mileage can't get worse... it can only improve if you get out and remain the same if you don't... :banghead:
(unless you are planning on some negative miles....)

I just got a call from a driving agency asking me to do a run from Glasgow to Aberdeen tomorrow morning. Against my better judgement I agreed to do it .... pulling a curtain sided trailer. I hope it's got a heavy load ^_^.
The Friarton bridge at Perth is always hairy in the wind, but at least there is an alternative route through Perth town. Anyway it looks like the east will escape, as usual .

I am going to ride to work tomorrow and back, as usual. Will take my Mrs. Doubtfire, at 21 kg plus my weight is hard to get blown away.
A colleague today told me about tomorrow's storms, haven't actually checked the forecast, what for? Did it before, will do it again ^_^
Btw, I'm just back from a wee evening ride with the girls, it was a lovely evening, just a bit of a drizzle towards home.

Well, that was a big let down. I was hoping I would have to cycle through a huge storm of biblical proportions to challenge me on the way home and instead just got a bit of light rain and breeziness

To be honest, hardly worth getting the car out for @potsy?

You mustn't have seen it hammering down as I got out of the car this morning then

Blasting a bit here on the coast. I've already been out and jammed a bin in next door but one's banging back gate. I think it's been blasted loose though, there's more banging going on.

He was threatening no more cycling so I was working on them staying the same... Though I had considered the use of the word consistent instead!
She, and I thought of using average but wanted to see if you could resist the temptation of picking me up on it...... you sir, are a pedant! ^_^

Last night was quite nice, even this morning hasn't been too bad, but the wind is starting to pick up a little now. I start at 2pm and head West, so am definitely giving it a miss. You are clearly far braver than me. Or perhaps just mad?

well - getting to college was OK, just wet and windy and only really an issue on one of my fast downhill sections - leaf & debris stroon, with the wind causing issues from the side - gates and holes in the hedges being the 'interesting' issues. Got soaked going out and was grateful for baling to my winter leggings which are semi waterproof and windproof...

coming home was another matter entirely! head wind most of the way and some of the gusts were not pleasant but didn't stop me in my tracks - though they did have me in some very low gears and on a different ring to normal as well... using the drops wasn't an option because I needed to be able to get to the brakes quickly and for me that is the cross levers... all vehicles except 1 car was excellent.

the hardest part was my lane (in both directions) because of the amount of debris on the ground, you can't see the edges of the tarmac and you don't want to go off the tarmac but conversely you don't want to go anywhere near the centre of the lane either because that is mud or loose gravel... there is now an interesting lump in the tarmac alongside an very old, tall scots pine which I suspect is going to come down soon - when it does the road will be closed because the roots are going to pull up half the width of the lane with it! on the bright side, it will only block the local brook rather than bring down the power cables!

Lunch and then I shall go sweet chestnut hunting - this breeze should be bringing down plenty of them and I know a really good local tree!
