My first proper job was as operator on an aging ICL-2900 Mainframe.. One of the daily task involved changing that days drive packs. I recall there were 5 drives, each holding a 200mb Disk platter array. They weighed a bloody ton, and were rather "fragile".....
Better than spending a couple of hours getting punched paper tape to read (and repairing it when it tore - every 10 minutes or so).
