Hi, just found out about The London Bike Show that will take place in Jan 2011..

It is holding three outdoors events together next year and I'm only interested on the bike show.

It'll be my first event/show so wondering whether it is good or not and worth the journey?

Judging by the link you have posted the show is aimed at people who wear helmets and perform stunts, is that your thing?
With one ticket giving access to all three shows I would hope the ticket price would give value for money. As this may be your first show, I would advise you to save on the food prices by taking along your own. I think the Outdoor Show would appeal to many leisure or touring cyclists, could give some ideas for a summer holiday.

Bike and Outdoor show. One location. Same weekend? I think I'll need to take a couple of days off before hand just to build up the energy!!

Probably not!

I went to the main Cycle Show in Earls Court for the first time this year. I found it a bit boring - just lots of similar stalls with shiny bikes. While I like walking round bike shops and looking at bike-porn this was just too much! A couple of people I know in the trade both commented afterwards that that show has become a lot more 'corporate' with more branding, on-message stuff and fewer freebies and good laughs.

This one may be different, but I won't travel across London for it.

I had a look at the site a few weeks ago when someone told me it was over my birthday weekend - looks like a re-hash of BikeRadar Live but on a bigger scale. Little for on-road cyclists apart from looking at stands while the off-roadies can try stuff out. Snorri's first line sums up my impression too.

Now I'm probably going to Revolution in Manchester instead.

I've found out tonight that I have a couple of freebie tickets. Which was nice  If anyone would like the other one, let me know.

I didn't go because I knew there wouldn't be much there different than the Cycle show last Oct and you could tell from the exhibitor list that it wouldn't be as big. Would have wasted 12 quid ..... and I really don't want to be 'impressed' by 'stars' on mountain bikes making a fool of themselves ..... ;)
