I wasn't sure where to put this, so apologies if it's not in the correct place!
I was phoning around for insurance quotes for my kit car. It's currently on a limited mileage (2500 miles) and one of the brokers I spoke to wanted to know what other vehicles I have access to. I explained I'm a named driver on my Wife's car and also my Daughter's (although she lives at a different address). The broker was quite abrupt and said 'is that your main car', to which I replied "It is our main car, my Wife is the main driver and I do more miles per year on my pedal bikes than I do in the kit car. She didn't seem to accept this, and I reinforced it with "I think the kit car did 1020 miles between MOT's in the last year. Years ago I had a similar issue (with a different kit) and a broker wanted the details of my other vehicle, so I gave the frame number of my bike. The broker said " we can't find that vehicle", so I explained what it was, and that I used it for daily commuting - They accepted it. Maybe times have changed? Do folk who walk, or use their pedal bikes or public transport all have issues with kit or classic car insurance on low- mileage? I'm more than happy to have my MOT mileages inspected if that helps.
Rant over.
