On the way home today on a fairly fast straight I was catching up another cyclist. When I was close enough I looked behind, saw a car further up the road, and indicated to overtake.
As I was overtaking the car also over took me, now this made me feel as though I had executed my overtake at a bad time. The car was fully in the other lane and I don't think I was too close to the other cylist, but it didn't feel right.
I obviously thought I had time for the move and the driver to see (there where no beeps or swerving etc), but in hindsight I think if I'm in the same situation again I'll slow a bit as it hadn't panned out as I planned/assumed. Also feeling a bit bad for not slowing and saying something at the time.
Any thoughts?
