Remember driving a DB7 and thinking the same. Crappy plastic Ford locking barrel on the outside and a Granada ignition key (equipped with early 90's torch), Granada window switches etc.

It was some years ago so things may have changed.

But at the time, Ford owned Aston Martin so whilst not necessarily right, it isn't surprising. Ford sold Aston Martin in 2007. Having driven several modern Aston Martins I can't say I was especially miffed at the fit and finish.

It isn't surprising. But the barrels could have recessed. The key could have had the housings altered to make them appear a little more than a parts bin special.
