The end of Carlitos Way gets to me every time.

The intercision scene from The Golden Compass induced a stifled scream in me, let alone tears. There were calmer kids in the cinema.

Found it disturbing in the book not clicked on the link as not sure I want to see it, and may make me blub.

Would agree on Life is Beautiful. A real story of hope in the face of overwhelming adversity. The father pays the ultimate price as I think most fathers would.
