Well, as yet, this is my first and potentially only tour (although, depending on how knackered I am at the end of this one, there may well be more) so I just invested some mega big bucks in a fine set of Tesco panniers. They're DEFINITELY gonna need some waterproof stuff in or around them!! :biggrin:

I'll ask my cousin (Nurse Prac) for some biohazard bags. Just cos I like the idea haha.

No pannier will be completely waterproof in a downpour - you need some sort of plastic bag as a liner.

The best I've ever had were bags once used by the Post Office for wrapping packages that started to split in the post. About 25% of solicitors files sent in to the costs office in 1984-6 arrived in these! - I buit up quite a stock.

Since then I've used either bags for life or the purpose made liners sold by outdoor shops.
